2024 Winter Shanghai History Camp Q&A

Dates: Jan. 21 – Feb. 1, 2024

What is the tuition fee?

The tuition fee for the 2024 Winter TCR History Camp in Shanghai is USD $4,950.

How much time is required for daily homework?

Our Camp covers what is typically a semester-long course at the college level for first-year students. We condense this curriculum into just two weeks, therefore it involves a substantial amount of reading and writing. We recommend not combining this program with another intensive academic program due to the workload.

Can I leave after my conference session is over?

Yes, you are permitted to leave after your conference session concludes. We understand that high school students often have busy schedules and many commitments. However, we strongly encourage you to dedicate two weeks to the Camp to make the most of the Camp and achieve your goal.

Is it a day camp or an overnight program?

The Shanghai Camp is a day camp specifically designed for students in the Shanghai area.

What is the plan for the weekend in between?

No camp-related activities are scheduled for January 20th and 21st during the camp weekend break.

Who is the instructor, and are all classes and conferences conducted in English?

Our primary goal is to assist all participants in writing an expository history research paper in English, hoping that their essays will be published in The Concord Review. Additionally, the research, reading, and writing skills acquired during the Camp will benefit students in their future college and professional careers. The Shanghai camp will be led by one of our top instructors from the TCR History Camp team.

What does a typical day of camp look like?

Each weekday, our camp participants will gather in the classroom at 9 a.m. We have two group meetings (classes) scheduled each day, with each participant having a daily individual conference lasting approximately 20-25 minutes.

What should I prepare before attending the camp?

It is essential to gather as many sources as possible related to your chosen topic and read extensively. Reading is a crucial part of the preparation process.
