Who is eligible to apply?
All current high school students and rising 9th graders are eligible to apply for the high school history camp. We offer a separate camp for middle school students. However, we’ve had rising 7th graders in our high school camp and they survived.
How many students are in each session?
18 students per session. 1:6 teacher to student ratio.
Does participation in the summer program guarantee being published at The Concord Review?
No. The summer program provides students with the necessary training to write a publishable history paper, but it does not guarantee being published at our journal. All the papers that we receive go through a rigorous and competitive review process, and papers submitted by our summer program students are no exception to that rule.
Does TCR history camp have a theme like National History Day?
The Concord Review and the TCR history camp do not tell students what to write. Your topic, your work. Please share a piece of history that you love the most!
Do I need a recommendation letter?
No. You only need to provide your current history teacher’s name and email.
Will we be supervised outside of meetings and the conference? (In-person camp.)
We treat you as a fellow scholar. We expect you to be independent and taking care of yourselves without supervision. As long as the camp receives your parent’s permission, all we need is your whereabouts and emergency contact information.

Please do not use your school email as your primary contact. Use your personal email you check as often as you check TikTok or IG.
We will use Google Classroom for the Camp, so your personal Gmail account will work best.
Can I write a TCR caliber history paper during the camp?
Probably not. The instructors will go over the steps from ‘finding your topic’ to ‘how to write your conclusion.’ You should be able to write a very rough draft by the end of the TCR history camp. You need to invest months in writing a good history expository essay.
What’s a typical day like?
You will have a lot of independent study hall hours. A typical day will start with two hour-long group meetings in the morning, followed by a daily 1:1 conference.
May homeschooled students apply?
Yes. We are happy to work with highly motivated homeschooled students.
What is the cancellation policy?

Yes, you can pay by check, wire transfer, and Zelle.
