TCR Summer Programs are intensive workshops in history, research, and writing. Within a structured and supportive environment, high school students develop historical research projects on topics of their own choosing.

Students arrive with a research topic and spend two weeks transforming it into a publication-worthy essay. Along the way, they learn to formulate productive research questions, locate and evaluate primary and secondary sources, take effective notes, examine model historical essays, and experiment with analytical and narrative writing strategies. They also address challenges related to structure and organization while considering the broader philosophical questions involved in studying the past.
